Spring is nearly upon us and with warmer weather, birds about, and
mud drying. We busy ourselves with raking, cleaning up wayward
branches, and planning our warm weather landscaping.
This leads me to a major pet peeve of mine, outdoor decor.
I need a theme folks. I dislike the seven dwarfs beside a statue
of the Virgin Mary. A don't like to see a whirly gig beside a settee
of two frogs under an umbrella. Giant faux flowers stuck in the
ground in colors that I am sure are fairly rare in nature. My
philosophy is less IS more.
Give me some nice flowers, bird feeders, bird bath and I am happy.
I realize to each their own.
Don't even get me started on fan powered blow up lawn ornaments.
(you know who you are)

ReplyDeleteAnd what about the Vera Wang geese-dressed for all occassions. My favorites are nice flower and veggie beds, with an occassional cat(real) slumbering under a nice tomato plant or cosmos.
ReplyDeleteI love bird feeders but don't want to provide an
all you can eat buffet for my many felines.
Just a few thoughts.
Happy Spring
Just love reading your blog, we are anxiously awaiting spring so we can do some landscaping of our own and I guarentee there will be no bent over behinds in my yard
ReplyDeleteYes, with spring just arriving we are trying to decide what to put under our newly trimmed trees. Should it be the seven dwarfs and a dress-up goose? What about some Easter peeps and bunnies along with gnomes and a gargoyle? Decisions, decisions, decisions...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that was hysterical. I loved the mannequin upside down in a toilet bowl that was out towards Helvatia a few years back!! Can't really top that one :)
